Problem with RTK6
Hello!
I seem to have problem when connecting my RTK6 control-unit for the first time. I have just connected plus 12V and ground to the unit like this: http://www.postimage.org/aV_1Y80.jpg When I push the light-button to turn on the unit a "zero" just flashes under the light-button and the unit beeps four times fast and after that the whole panel lights up + flashes and beeps and turns it self off. Could I have connected something wrong or what? (I have just connected +12V and gound to the unit, nothing else yet). |

When the controll unit can´t find a lightbar, it reports a misstake. |
Thanks for your fast answer!
Now I have connected the Bus-cable from the control-unit to the central control-unit in the lightbar like this: http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/2230/19444949.th.jpg And my connections to the central control unit looks like this: http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/6246/72849508.th.jpg But again when I push the light-button to turn on the unit a "zero" comes up under the light-button and the unit beeps about four times and then turns itself off... Could I have connected the 2 light-beacons wrong (see upper image)?? Or what can the problem be? |
Have you got the original cables?
Which lights do you have? The flashers or the rotating lights? If you´ve got the rotating lights, you need a third, cable which checks the ligt. If this cable is missing, the control unit gives an allert. Could you take some pictures from the whole construction? |
No, I don´t have the original cables because this rtk6 came with no lights or cables..
The lights I am using are rotating lights made by Britax. Maybe it is like you say that I need a third cable for the lights. Where do I connect it? http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/7141/91698097.th.jpg |

Yes, thats the misstake. You need the original Hella lights. I´ll try to find out, which cables you have to connect with which contact. Please wait a moment;) ---------- In the manual I couldn´t find anything about it... Perhaps somebody else, who knows more about the RTK 6, could help here! |
OK, thanks Yannic![99]
If anyone knows what the problem is, help would be apprichited. |
Maybe you need a Third cable on the Controll Unit Like this.
Thats my own Controll Unit http://www.bildercache.de/minibild/2...161431-939.jpg Red and Black to + Brown to - |
Hi Freestyle!
I connected like you have yours control-unit connected with the third cable and it fixed the problem with the unit turning itself off. So far so good! Thanks! But "the zero" still flashes under the light-button, could it be indicating that there is something wrong with lights? When I push the buttons nothing seems to happend. |
I Think you need a Third Cabel on the Light's too
It's like a Control Cabel for the Unit. (Rotation Control) |
I think you could be right there.. but where/how shall I connect the third cable with the lights? :kratz:
|
You need original RTK6 rotators because there are magnetic rotation sensors.
|
And there is no way to "connect away" these magnetic rotation sensors?
|
Could some of these instructions be the solution for me? :blaulicht:
I have only connected 2 cables, B3 to plus rotating light and A3 to minus on light. I think that more must be connected to work... correct me if I am wrong! OMG :ko:
|
What does user Blaulicht think about this? OMG??
I have not tried this last advice yet.. could something go wrong?? |
Attention RTK6 experts!
Should I go ahead and connect my 2 rotating-lights like this? : http://sosi.myds.me/forum/uploads/peter/3kl.gif A1: Brücke zu A2 A2: Brücke zu A1 und B1 A3: RKL-Minus B1: Brücke zu A2 B2: unbelegt B3: RKL-Plus <!-- / message --> |

Also for other Rotation Lights like your's. A1: Bridge to A2 A2: Bridge to A1 and B1 A3: Beacon - B1: Bridge to A2 B2: Not used B3: Beacon + |
Yes, now it works! :blaulicht:
Thanks to user Freestyle and others for helping me out with this rotating-light issue! I put a towel in the sirenspeaker pipe to lower the sirensound a bit and it works. But there are now 4 big pieces flashing in the control-unit display to the left.. Has it something to do with siren beeing muffled?? or what? Lights and siren seems to work fine even with the display flashing. |
