No. Not only the level of abrasive is different. There might be other ingredients to set the dirt free. I don't know the right word. "Thinner" or "solver"? In German "Lösungsmittel".
I had polish for metal that was like acid on plastic. Without polishing anything, it ruined the plastic by bare contact to it. And, you're right, there are different levels of abrasive. So it might give some scratches on soft surfaces like plastic when the polish is made for harder materials. => Don't use metall-polish on plastic. Use plastic-polish or car/paint-polish. |

Here is another tip where they use Autosol metal polish on plastic
http://thepolishguy.com/2009/10/06/r...-with-autosol/ The advice there says "Using light pressure rub the polish in a tight circular motion with either your finger tip or a soft cloth". I think that I have used too heavy pressure when I have polished the domes. ![]() |
